Port Salerno / Manatee Pocket

Hello All,
We're coordinating some mast step/unstep work with Mack Sails down here in Florida. The only yard we can find who can accommodate us in to pull the sticks is Port Salerno Marine, but they're all the way down on the south end of Manatee Pocket. We draw 5'9" and would need to transit the pocket, and anchor somewhere nearby to let epoxy set up after the masts are back in. Wondering if anyone has any local knowledge about the water and whether or not we'd be okay on the approach and the surrounding anchorages. None of the charts I have really give much detail...

Activecaptain reviews of the anchorages have some folks with 6' drafts making it in okay, but they're all a few years out of date.

Re: Port Salerno / Manatee Pocket

You should be fine, my daughter was anchored in there with a 7 foot draft last month. Try to schedule haul out at high tide if possible.

Re: Port Salerno / Manatee Pocket

A 10ft dredged channel is well marked to the south end of the Pocket. Anchor in 5 to 6 ft. in the wide area between Mariner Cay and Pirates Cove Marina, or in 5 ft. beyond Pirates Cove. [both over MUD bottom]
Tie up dinghy at small park dock, south of Pirates Cove.
