Caribbean sailing recommendation

I am thinking about Guadeloupe or the Bahamas for a bareboat charter in early spring. I don't know much about either and have only chartered with Sunsail and the Moorings in the Caribbean. They do not serve Guadeloupe. Any recommendations on credible charter companies there? Thoughts, recommendations, links are appreciated.

Re: Caribbean sailing recommendation

I would start with visailing.com (I’ve used them several times). Their site allows searching for boats by islands and when you have questions they’re quick to respond. They don’t cost you anything as the provider pays them. I have no affiliation with them except as a satisfied customer.

Does anyone have any comparison of Guadeloupe and Martinique? Is it easy to get around on english in either country?

You might have language issues. But you should be able to manage.
If you choose Guadeloupe I would recommande a minimum of 10 days. Sailing distances are a bit longer then say the BVIs or Grenadines. And French Island tends to close up shop pretty early in the afternoon. Lets say you want to visit a rhum factory the same day you sail from the main Island to Mary Galante. It won't work.

Martinique. Distances are short. But again most people manage very basic english.

Also do check the status of the covid situation and the protest. Could have an impact on your trip for both island.
Maybe you could consider Antigua or the Grenadines
