Re: Please, do not whine....

Re Wrangell. I have a C&C 34 that measures 33ft plus skiff /davit. The Ketchikan harbormaster measured the boat at 34' one day when I was away with davit and said I could not stay in the slip. I told them to remeasure. They came back when I had the skiff stored on the bow and confirmed 33'. I only store the skiff on the davit during s few months of summer. Many boats have their skiff tied behind clogging the channel.

My experience in Mexico is that you are charged for the documented length. When I check into a new marina I give both lengths.

Note: Some marinas charge by the suze of slip you use. If you are in a 50' slip with a 45' boat you pay for 50'.

Our experience in Mexico was they charged as per our documented length. They insisted on seeing our official (Canada) registration document, and then used that number.

Given the documented length is less than our LOA, who was I to argue? (Besides, they charged high per foot prices and in US$, rather than MXpesos.)
