Depends on your taste, the political elite apparently prefers poo and quick money.

Letting more people in, especially of folks with higher fertility rate, presents you two dead ends. Either you leave them at a miserable income level that their consumption and ecological footprint remains fairly low (still several times larger than in Africa/Asia). This is the current "strategy", leading to all kind of social problems. OR, spending trillions, you lift at least the majority to middle-class levels (a policy many native citizens would need too!) then the first thing they'll do is to buy a diesel-burning pickup. All the 6-8kids in the second generation, then the 3-4 in the third scrap those for lithium electric, responsible for ecological havoc currently in Congo and Bolivia.

Lifting living standards of 2/3rd of the world population belongs to rainbow unicorn category especially that the "usual cash cow", the middle class of the developed world is disappearing. Besides it's not just a simple maths operation where the subtracted wealth ends up 100% on the beneficiary's side. Taking hard earned 1000€ from me will limit my possibilities to e.g. invest solar panels on my roof and allow an Eritrean family to buy food for 10x more than they'd in their home country. But that's far too little for them to learn a European language and a profession even if they're willing!

According to Christian Lueth, it is.

Christian Lueth, a fascist member of the Alternative for Deutschland (AfD), when asked if it was in the party’s interest that more refugees and migrants come to Germany, is reported to have said:
“Yes, because the AfD does better. We could later shoot them all. That’s not at all the issue. Or, gassing, or whatever you want. It’s the same to me.”

For the leftist liberal left brainers there is no problem. We build wealth and prosperity so that it can be squandered by the masses.

I forego children because I don't feel financially secure enough in ten years to raise them with any sense of certainty. But apparently, I must now accommodate breeders at my expense.
Once again, for the liberal dead, that is no problem.

Okay, got you to understand quicker than what I thought.

Some politicians have their work cut out for them.

Yeah, and there is that one too... These far-right parties rarely don't do well when it comes to governing a country. The more inflow you get, regardless how humanitarian the reasoning is, the more influential these become eventually wrecking the economy as well as society. Brexsh#t ringing a bell anyone?

Re: "Pirates" off Gibraltar

As an update to our piracy (later immigrants) discussion, a brief of boats intercepted recently in the South (and towed in to Canary Islands). Area Gibraltar / Cadiz to Mauretanie.

- two flagged Dutch,
- three Great Britain,
- one German.

All crewed by Russian and Bulgarian cruisers, total of 35 tons of hashish imported from Africa.

This shows you the scale and the agents of the situation.

Do not mess up with these people and do not pull out your guns yet (as one poster suggested). Rather notice the position report to your home country police and let them take the action they deem adequate.
