Pelagic AP attached to Monitor Windbanr

Just purchased a Pelagic Autopilot with the intent of hooking it up to steer my Monitor Vane to a compass heading . Anyone else done this ? Care to share your stories on its success . ?

Doesn’t the controller give it a compass heading?

Auto pilot to a wind vane is a way to get better control in very light and unsteady wind or if there is too much turbulence around the normal wind direction input.

Re: Pelagic AP attached to Monitor Windbanr

We installed one on our Monitor a few weeks ago and are very happy with it. The install was pretty straightforward and it holds the course like a champ. It’s so great not to have to hand steer when there isn’t enough wind (or the wind is too on the nose) for the Monitor!
