We finally got the boat. We negotiated to have a price at market value. IT was for me a red line and I made it clear to the broker and seller. The paperwork took a long time so we had the boat 10 days ago.

We spent one weekend doing some cleaning and moved the boat from Anacortes to Blaine. Here are two short videos.

Thx you again for all your feedback and comments. It has been very useful.

Congrats on your new baby,

I assume you mean the market value that your surveyor put in the survey report?? How did that differ from your original offer price and the owner's original asking price?

Hey Paul. Yes.

About 10K. (after we already negotiated the first offer of course).

Also, the surveyor explained he had very few references for this boat since this model is not so common (the 38 is much more common). The broker tried to convince us that this evaluation was wrong (because of the lack of reference). My argument was simple. A number is a number and it will stick to the boat.
