Joyce in Moitessier's Sailing to the Reefs

I just finished Sailing to the Reefs this morning. I was left wondering what ever happened to Joyce, who Moitessier first met in South Africa and was on the way to pickup in Trinidad when he went ashore in Marie-Therese II. Anyone have any idea what happens to Bernard and her in the short term (obviously it cannot last too long as he heads back to France and gets married to Francoise fairly soon after) and what became of Joyce more generally?

OK, I just finished the book too. I know it is a very old thread.... But Anyone knows? The poor girl got on a cargo ship from Durban to Trinidad to meet him, and we don't know what happened.
