I foward a message from the family of Rocco Acocella. He was sailing alone on a trimaran from St. Martin to Barranquilla.

WARNING! The man in the picture, Rocco Acocella Rocco Roverandom is missing. He was sailing on board of his boat (a trimaran named TRINAVIS), on the 17th of June from Saint Martin (Caribbean) to the port of Marina Puerto Velero, Barranquilla (Colombia). He has activated an emergency signal from a PLB1 device. Considering the data, obtained from the PLB1, since its activation on the 22/06/2019 at 19:31 utc until the last detection on the 23/06/2019 at 14:46 utc, we could trace the route, indicated by the signal, on average 245°;considering the miles travelled by the signal in 19 hours, we have calculated an average speed of 3.8 knt.It can be hypothesized that Rocco is on a floating means in an area of the sea which includes the indicated route (blue line) in the picture, which moves towards the coasts of Panama and Costarica. MAXIMUM DIFFUSION AMONG THE BOATS AND ATTENTION TO THE COASTLINE.

Salió a bordo de este barco (trimarán, nombre: TRINAVIS) el 17 de junio desde Saint Martin (Caribe) con rumbo al puerto de Marina puerto Velero, Barranquilla (Colombia).
Se lanzó la señal de emergencia desde el dispositivo PLB1.
Al procesar los datos del detector de posición (PLB1) desde la activación del 22/06/2019 a las 19:31 UTC hasta la última encuesta del 23/06/2019 a las 14:46 UTC, hemos trazado la ruta seguida por la señal, en promedio 245 °; Considerando las millas recorridas por la señal en 19 h, hay una velocidad promedio de 3.8 nudos. Hasta la fecha, podemos suponer que Rocco puede estar en un vehículo flotante (bote salva vidas) en una zona marítima que incluye la ruta indicada (línea azul) en la foto hasta las costas de Panamá, Costa Rica.
DIFUSIÓN MÁXIMA ENTRE LOS BARCOS Y LA ATENCIÓN TAMBIÉN EN LA ZONA COSTA DE TRÁFICO.

E’ partito a bordo di questa imbarcazione (trimarano, nome: TRINAVIS) il 17 giugno da Saint Martin (Caraibi) diretta verso il porto di Marina puerto Velero, Barranquilla (Colombia).
Ha lanciato il segnale di emergenza da dispositivo PLB1.
Elaborando i dati del rilevatore di posizione (PLB1) dall'attivazione del 22/06/2019 ore 19:31 UTC fino all'ultimo rilevamento del 23/06/2019 ore 14:46 UTC, abbiamo tracciato la rotta seguita dal segnale, mediamente 245°; considerando le miglia percorse dal segnale in 19h, risulta una velocità media di 3,8 knt. Ad oggi si può ipotizzare che Rocco possa trovarsi su un mezzo galleggiante in un’area di mare che comprende la rotta indicata (linea blu) nella foto sino alle coste di Panama, Costarica.
MASSIMA DIFFUSIONE TRA LE BARCHE E ATTENZIONE ANCHE NEL TRATTO DI COSTA DELL'AREA.
ATTENTION. Le garçon dans la photo, Rocco Acocella Rocco Roverandom est actuellement PORTE DISPARU.
Il est parti à bord de ce bateau (trimaran, nom: TRINAVIS) le 17 Juin de Saint Martin (Caribes) allant vers le port de Marina Puerto Velero, Barranquilla (Colombie).
Il a lancé le signal d’emergence avec un dispositif PLB1.
Élaborant les données du détecteur de position (PLB1) depuis l’activation du 22/06/2019 à 19h31 UTC jusqu’à la dernière détection du 23/06/2019 14h46, on a tracé la route suivie par le signal, en moyenne 245° ; en considérant les miles parcourus par le signal dans 19 heures, il résulte une vélocité moyenne de 3,8 knt. Aujourd’hui on hypothèse que Rocco puisse se trouver dans un moyen flottant dans une zone maritime qui comprends la route indiquée (ligne bleue) dans la photo jusque la cote de Panama et Costa Rica.
DIFFUSION MAXIMUM ENTRE LES BATEAUX ET L'ATTENTION ÉGALEMENT DANS LA ZONE CÔTIÈRE DE TRAFIC.

NEW HYPOTHESIS OF DRIFT COURSE WHICH OUTDO THE PREVIOUS ONES.
It has been updated considering the new historical metereological data of wind and currents.
BLUE LINE: hypothesized route.
RED SECTION: Rocco Acocella’s possible impact on the coast.
The route goes trough an area with many atolls and islets which cannot be excluded from the hypothesis of impact.
