I was sailing from Napoli to Sicilia and was probably 35 - 40 nm west of that beast. We experienced winds of 15-20 kts from the west with a broad line of squall cells moving toward land. We were able to dodge the worst of them, some of which were quite impressive.

Seeing that film, I'm especially grateful for our good luck!!
