Re: Sailmaker with mast slides in Barra de Navidad?
You can measure the existing ones (length and diameter), so you can order the right ones (get some extra), phone Downwind Marine in San Diego, and have some mailed to you in an envelope. Probably take about a week.
CF member, zeehag, has spent time in Barra de Navidad more recently than I have; perhaps there is a sailmaker there now.

Re: Sailmaker with mast slides in Barra de Navidad?
i heard a rumor that bob hogin was back, but itis unconfirmed..might ask on morning net about that.
the suggestion of ordering from downwind is best one yet. slides are that for which many seek and few locate. i own 2 modern ones, unusable to me, as my masts are wood requiring a much older version. i received em as a trade for other items.
please follow up with availability of sailmaker in barra de navidad.

Thanks!
Hogan was there last season, I think he just spends the winters there. Lots of boats headed south now, why not contact PV Sailing or Ullman Sails and see if they can get them on a boat headed down?
Re: Sailmaker with mast slides in Barra de Navidad?
There’s probably boats doing the Panama posse still in Banderas Bay that could bring them down, if someone has them. There’s also Todo Vale in La Cruz.
Re: Sailmaker with mast slides in Barra de Navidad?
ps i donot trust mikee of pv sails due to his poor to miserable repair on my less than 5 yr old genoa causing it to rip for 10 feet in 5 kts winds as a result of the alleged repair.
he may be ok for buyingparts, but i would see guadalupe dipp at ullman sails first. todo vela is good store.
