Favorite Destinations in the World List

I need to keep dreaming about where to go with this boat to get through the boat building.

What are some of you favorite destinations in the world?

As a side question, what destinations have the most and least particulate pollution?

I have a friend from Italy that lives there on occasion. Now I see why.

Maine. Little industry, 80% renewable electricity generation. No coal. The air is so clean that pollution sensitive white lichen flourishes on the granite rocks.

C’mon!!! You’ll love me! I keep to myself, I’m quiet, I anchor way WAY out there so I don’t take your spot. Ha ha.

That’s all true stuff

I love Maine. That’s where it all started for me. Beautiful pic and oh so quiet and peaceful there.

The pollution, however, can be pretty bad.

The air from factories from Michigan to Pennsylvania to NJ all mixed and sits stagnant over Maine often in the summer. Mix that with the people driving to Acadia and the particulates get pretty high from time to time.

Still worth it. I just stay inside with the air filters running on bad days, venture out when it blows away.

East Shore Apitaki Atoll,Tuamotus...like Gilligans Island coconuts, sharks & no people

Codville Lagoon, BC...isolated,hike in lake to flyfish, some chick stood on rocks in the distance every evening & serenaded us with her classical flute.

Isla San Francisco,Baja...absolute gorgeous world heritage site...great scuba, fishing

Our favorite places are all those places that the rest of you find too difficult or too much hassle to go to.

One of our VERY FAVORITE places is Sable Island, off of Nova Scotia. Only about a dozen private boats get there in a year.

Tuamotos (pretty much any of them). Just enough civilization around that you can resupply (some things), the go back to hanging out on an uninhabited motu and not see people for weeks. Clean water, clean air, great snorkeling... just a bit of a trip to get there

Wow!!! I just read your write up on the place and it looks amazing!!

To think this is near Nova Scotia. Not too far away at all, yet so removed.

I think this is definitely on the list the first year and I’ll show this to my girlfriend. It’s really something. Amazing it’s so close by (relatively speaking)

Southern Tasmania... nice folks, decent maritime support when needed, lots of anchorages, and (except when the bushfires are raging) the air has come clear across the Indian or Southern Ocean and there are few pollution sources out there for thousands of miles... and in my opinion, it is pretty damn beautiful as well.

But Tassie isn't accepting overseas yotties just now (thank goodness) so you have time to finish your boat...

I have known people to complain about the cold in that area........

If you don't mind cool then the waters east of Isla Chiloe are in my view simply the finest in the world.
