Barney! So mean!

I'm sure Chotu will be well-behaved in your fav spot. Why don't you PM it to him?

Mine were the Fijian islands, Chotu. We spent a month there. I LOVED Fiji!

Fair, fair, winds, my friend,

The island of Dominica has breathtaking landscapes and very friendly people. The view from Ladera Restaurant on St. Lucia is world class.

Agree totally. Pulled in expecting to stay a week. Had to pull myself away after six weeks. Perfect Place.

Followed by...

South Island of NZ

Tonga

Yasawas in Fiji

and I do love Turkey, friendly folks, lots to see, excellent food, and cheap!

The Dodecanese islands in the southern Aegean. Beautiful, windy, not crowded. As good as it gets.

Re: Favorite Destinations in the World List

Bora Bora was very beautiful, only spent a week there, wished it could have been much longer.

Also a second vote for Seychelles - spent a month there back in 2004 and loved it. But the officialdom was a bit overpowering back then (may be the same still now). Had to get time-restricted permission to go anywhere with the boat, they took our passports away and held them till we left.

Both those places are out of our reach now.

But a big vote for Fiji, our go-to place probably for the rest of our cruising careers. Wonderful people, beautiful places, great weather (as an alternative to NZ winters), inexpensive and uncrowded. Also a huge variety of places to visit/anchor/stay. We only stay in the area for max 6 months a year for obvious reasons.
