Dept of Homeland Secirity sales form?

The DHS requires that their sales form be submitted upon sale of a boat..Where do you send this form?...who can I talk to about this form??

Whut? When did homeland get into boat sales? I’m sure the only Fed. entity to be involved with our eventual sale will be the CG and only because we are documented.

Has been around for a long (long) time and only applies to USCG documented boats. Says so right on the form itself:

To publish and provide a public record (available for public inspection/copying) of the sale or change of ownership of a vessel which is documented, will be documented, or has been documented pursuant to 46 U.S.C. Chapter 121.
There's lots of other references down in the Privacy Act Statement about application to "documented vessels".

[Edit] A USCG document is proof of title in addition to everything else. As such it makes sense that a bill of sale is required when transferring the title. Same thing is required for both car and boat registration at the state level when that registration is also the title/proof of ownership [/edit]
