No need to apologize, just take advantage of the built-in spell-checker. It's the little red squiggly lines under the misspelled words. Get rid of those and you are golden.

Re: Cruisers' Ten Commandments . . .

Thou shalt reef early.
Thou shalt not abuse the hailing or other radio channels.
Thou shalt do it the Captain's Way.
Thou shalt rig preventers and jacklines.
Thou shalt conserve fresh water.
Thou shalt follow thy skipper's instructions for the care of the head -- or be the one to muck it out and rebuild it.
Thou shalt stay on board.
Thou shalt keep a diligent watch.
Thou shalt not be wholly dependent upon electronics.

By the way, Thou shalt not trust the spelling checker -- 'tis truly a fiendish creature of Beelzebub and a Work of Perdition that shalt lead thee into the shoals and reefs of English errors and put unintended words into thy writing.

Trust, but verify. Even Ronny knew that.

Re: Cruisers' Ten Commandments . . .

1. Thou shalt not leave on a passage without having shaken thee and thy crew and thy vessel down beforehand.
2. Thou shalt let the weather, not the calendar, determine when thee departeth.
3. Thou shalt reef when nightfall or the black cloud approacheth, not wait till it arriveth.
4. Thou shalt gaze round the entire horizon at least every 12 minutes.
5. Thou shalt not sail through uncharted reefs at night or in poor visibility.
6. Thou shalt not anchor too close to thy neighbor.
7. Thou shalt know how to bleed thine own diesel, and to heave thine own vessel to.
8. Thou shalt not over-burden thy vessel, with unneeded provisions, spares, or books.
9. Thou shalt respect thy crew and their needs, or thou shall single-hand.
10. Thou shalt not spoil it for those who sail behind thee.
