Theres a regular run once/year Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Ensanada. Contact DYT Yacht Transport

Re: cost for ocean transportation via ship

i bought my Hunter 42 in Florida and had it shipped to Australia -it cost me $35k 8 years ago, but i considered this great value. it only took 3 weeks from West Palm beach to Sydney and it arrived as it was loaded-in perfect order- couldn't recommend 7Stars more highly. (or is it 7 Seas??)

Re: cost for ocean transportation via ship

My boat is 49'...they pick up in Tahiti end of December early January so most likely December in Australia.

I see you're in Raitea...my boat is there also atm...we'll be sailing for Hawaii in June as the transport was pricey and Ensenada is a long beat away from Victoria still.

Re: cost for ocean transportation via ship

The wife and I were thinking of sailing south next fall from SF to Mazatlan. Not super excited about returning via the Baja Bash, I called a trucking company to see what transporting the boat (an Ericson 35') back to San Francisco would be. First, they don't transport all the way to the SF bay, only over the border where you have to find another trucking company to finish the trip. Not including haulout or the second truck...$12,500. Also about a third the value of the boat.

Sailing back up is about 3 weeks and as I don't see myself eating and drinking $12,500 worth of provisions in that period of time, this was a pretty easy decision.
