I hate to see this. We had strong North winds last night and so far today as well. Hopefully they can get it off the beach before it is a total loss.

I heard this unfold this morning on VHF. We were on the hook just south of Pungo bridge, and headed south early this morning hoping to get to Elizabeth City, but the winds were too much. We stopped at Coinjock so that friends could still visit while we are in the area. We saw gusts in the mid-30's on Currituck sound. Was probably even windier where this single-hander was.
