That's about what we are now paying across Europe. We all drive little fun cars to help keep costs down. There has been a 20% rise in forecourt petrol prices since the lockdown ended.

I am very impressed

This thread has drifted enough to become a new topic of entertainment. May the farce continue :-) ............................... I will try to help as I have too much free time currently

With currency and volume conversions, $6.44 was the average diesel price in my hometown yesterday. Boat fuel stations are usually quite a bit pricier...

Do people really believe they can help a person with so little experience find a "bluewater" boat?

If the poster is asking the question, have they really done any research beyond reading an outdated book maybe?
I ask alot..
But if I look at a grain of sand, a drip of water, an element of air; such isn't much.
Yet momentum of fetch gains mass of much less, maybe a touch.... A touch to much.

I've felt a speed boat of pretty much flat plane torquing it's Bermuda rig with spar dancing until capsize . Afterwards an inspection was a broken step and a torqued spreader. Cheap repairs yet glad to understand why spreaders use torsion bar suspension from mast.
That was 35kn yet an ocean fetch 35 kn would be considerably much more dense; like comparing my old semi trailer and my motorbike. Both of similar horsepower. Truck hits alot harder..

On bicycle, downwind, speed up, hours ago today. I stood up to increase torque, chain came loose. Spilt something on headstem then managed to fishtail bike back and forth, slapping tear every second whip..

I don't know Bluewater!
Often rolling rather than steep is my impression.
I like hulls like these though because..
In no wind no one gets horsepower.
In light winds, ain't as easy to shape as a fun keel hull, be slow going.
When beat becomes fun, getting under the weather is fun.
Reaching won't be as fast as a less water tensioned flatter planed fun keel yacht yet someone's gotta hold it or rely on instruments and machines to do their work.

That'd get underway.. bit wet for some maybe?
On 30foot similar keel length shape, a 6'7 forehand hugging the mast was waist depth into a beating chop maybe a mile out from the harbour.
But the ride is fantastic. Sails sail, the hulls stayed down.

I took off from sailing to save up to go sailing.
Re-engineered house into eco style. Cost less than $0 to live there after utility and council rates. Figured. Eco. Reduce eco burden and economic burden on pocket follows suit.

I like under the weather. Acceleration with rather than heavy hits from a uniform mass of water drops.

Lost with rigs though.. which ones do Watt?
Nice, slow and steady I seek. Ain't racing.

You’re right, post #82 was likely written under the influence of something narcotic.

Maybe that's the thing to get Americans to trim down a little and get rid of their big ego gas guzzlers.

Many factors have gone into the increase in fuel prices. Like all commodities, one day up the next day down. Not controlled by any one country or individual.

Re: "Bluewater" Boat Threads

I don't feel the USA gas prices are high. Prices did go up a week ago because of the pipeline hack. But European prices have been twice as much for like 40+ years.

Anyway : what black asphalt RV should I get?
