I would start with one book on sailing and one book on boat maintenance
For sailing, I have a couple but use the small book by Stephen Colgate 'Colgate's Basic Sailing Theory' and for maintenance
I have a couple but like the book from Don Casey 'Complete Illustrated Sailboat Maintenance Manual: Including Inspecting the Aging Sailboat, Sailboat Hull
Repair, Sailboat Refinishing...'
For me I tried to get them inexpensively, like used off of Amazon or on sale
elsewhere. If you have a local library, check out their books
and see if you would like them enough to have your own copies. Sometimes one book or author is easier for me to read and understand than another, based on their style and information they present. Some of the older books
will be a little 'behind' on stuff like solar
but the basics seem to be about the same.
