barometer

Heh Fellas, my boat is in Mexico. Sometimes a guy just needs a decent barometer. Been doing the 'Search" on the Internet. Been reading Dashew's Mariners Weather Handbook. They make a valid case, in my mind, of barometric recordings for safety. I have a piece of junk and would like to upgrade to a barometer that can be calibrated...and hopefully has the ability to record movement over time.

Saw one for about 500 hundred dollars...and there are so many things that i need to buy....

waddya think...any and all ideas will be entertained. Who was the sailor who used the dish towel hanging on his gimballed stove to fortell impending weather? British gent I believe....Chichester?
