Annapolis Sailboat Show - Boat List

I was sifting through the boat show">Annapolis Boat Show list and decided to attempt a price listing for everyones convenience. When I visit the purveyor's respective website's they seem to ubiquitously have all new boats listed as "Price Upon Request". Is this standard so they can get a lead and slam you with a sales call? Is there a list out there so I don't have to contact every broker directly and then add them to my spam filters?

I've only been to the fall one many years ago (and plan to go back this year). I believe the spring one is MUCH smaller than fall.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show - Boat List

Thanks for that info. We may go in the spring.

That being said, I have gone through over half of this list now and I cannot find pricing for any of the new models of these boats. Like, I get that there are going to be options that you can select on these boats that will change the price that you pay at the end. But a *STARTING AT MSRP would be a great places to...start.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show - Boat List

To be honest, IMO, the spring show is a waste of time. I have been several times to the fall show and once to the spring show. The spring show was 1/4 the size of the size of the fall event. Very few vendors.

That aside, Annapolis is one of those must visit cities. Very unique.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show - Boat List

Will agree the newer spring boat show is very small and will also say number of boats in the fall show is shrinking.

If you've never been to either and its a nice day, it can be a good family outing. I'm sure you'll get sticker shock for some of the larger boats you have on your list.

A new boat, IMO is like going to the car lot to buy a new car, only exponentially more $$$$. Like a new car, a new boat will not have the maintenance issues of a much older boat, not too much extra equipment (unless you go for fully loaded) and a large amount of depreciation after you take possession. On the other hand, you will have a nice shiny boat!

Annapolis is a great place to visit and you could spend much time seeing the historic areas of interest as well as lining up some used boat viewings.

Have fun.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show - Boat List

Unfortunately, it seems as if the Spring Annapolis sail show is experiencing a slow death. I’ve been for the past 3 years and this year it has shrunk in size to be almost worthless. I went yesterday and was able to see every vendor and go through about a dozen boats. Heading back today just because I have a ticket but probably won’t stay more than a couple hours. The show has 11 catamarans, and probably 50 monohulls. A fun experience but not worth the trip unless you’re in the area. The Fall show is the big one and worth the effort.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show - Boat List

We spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the show.

Boats of note:

Bavaria C45 - Excellent boat that seems well constructed. It felt like a solid, well designed, vessel that we could see ourselves spending a lot of time on. We will look to charter one in the next year. It also had wonderful storage for the dinghy. Just a solid boat for $420,000 out the door. 3 cabin 2 head.

Dufour 412- Surpised to climb on this boat and like it more that the Dufour 430. It was constructed better and the layout made me feel confident that it could take care of my family of four and I wouldn't need to spend the extra money on the larger boat. Win - win. The walk away price here was around $310,000. 2 cabin 2 head.

Bali 4.1 - This boat has all of the living space you could want in a smaller cat. The space in the saloon was wonderfull and the garage door was easy to put up and down. the cockpit, kitchen, and lounge on top was also superior to everything else at the show. 3 cabin 2 head. $620,000

Lagoon 42 - This was probably the most well finished boat from our perspective. We would love to get aboard one of these for a longer test. It has some big windows on the front and doesn't look to be very aerodynamic which would be an issue. however, I actually like the look of this vessel overall. $612,000. 3 cabin 2 head.
