Welcome and thank you for your service. My suggestion is start and or continue investiong in your knowedge base about sailing. Get a position as crew on racing boats. You will learn more about sailing, sail trim than any other way. Crew on offshore boats doing crossings. You might decide you don’t even like the ocean. Take your wife along. Eventually charter a boat for a week or two and see how you and her get along out there. Cheers
