Hi all,
We are just preparing to cross the pond now. In fact... we are 90mins out of Las Palmas as I type this. Yes, I should be cleaning and sorting out the boat but I’ve been Offshore for 5 days and needed my cruisers forum fix.

My wife does a blog if any are interested, we are pretty clueless at both the sailing and the video making to be honest but we’ve made it 4,500nm around the Med so far...

We’ve only had the channel up a couple of weeks and in YouTube time, we’ve only just started sailing but it will catch up before we cross i think.

The Daley Adventure.

Hope you guys enjoy.

If anyone is stopping by Marina San Miguel on their way past Tenerife, say hello to my mate Kerry on Palarran. We are planning on leaving there for Antigua on December 4th.

It would be nice if Barnacle or Atoll want to start a thread about the weather windows for starting. I've been running my Predictwind routing program every few days. It constantly wants to head me north and then back down. It's also interesting how the forecast changes so much. Not much use past 4 or 5 days as the weather changes so greatly. I'm also going to watch the ARC progress as it was very interesting last year to see the routes and results of the boats.

i subscribe to joe cioffi's weather channel on youtube, where he gives in depth weather analysis for the atlantic, not really sailing related but a good indicator of changing seasonal weather patterns as winter progresses.

i can't say that i would be that interested in monitoring the WX for the crossing, unless there is something significant like a hurricane happening.

my weather advice is generally, wait untill december, sail south till the butter melts then turn right

maybe barnie or K4WJA will offer their advice/start a thread if you dropped them a pm

our epic Kiwi adventurers in their latest episode.
in this episode they do a much needed oil change of the drive legs, get new crew, and practice retrieving lost surfers.......tip don't try this with the spinnaker up mid ocean

Thanks nice yacht. Did you mean to sail all the way to Portugal just for the rain? I find a trip to Falmouth is normally all that is required

Loved the trip up the river in Ep 6, just what was required for those of us who are going to follow you in a few years time. The wild foraging really interesting and the whole episode easy to watch, well done.

Regards

Peter

Yep there has been serious fires, we personnally could only smell the smokes during cyclone Ophelia but some friends were surrounded by flames in Baiona.

So far the gearbox works fine we are now in Cascais I need to get my passport done in Lisbon so that might take a while... So no atlantic crossing for us this year.
We will spend some winter time in the Guadiana. No idea how cold it gets down there will probably need to invest in a woodstove.
