Chotu, you really need to check out Jamestown. Has nice grocery, hardware, ice cream, coffee, pizza, and other intriguing restaurants. I understand there is now a drug store there. Easy access to fuel, much more welcoming than Newport I would say. Located nearly directly across the Naragansett from Newport it cannot be easier to access.
This is a favorite replenishment stop for us.
...One of these years we will check out Bristol.

All persons entering R.I. are required to undergo a 14 day quarantine.
Do they have the proper B1/B2 visitor visas for each person on board so as to clear immigration upon arrival?
FYI: Per the US Department of State
Suspension of Routine Visa Services
Last Updated: March 20, 2020
In response to significant worldwide challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of State is temporarily suspending routine visa services at all U.S. Embassies and Consulates. Embassies and consulates will cancel all routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments as of March 20, 2020. As resources allow, embassies and consulates will continue to provide emergency and mission critical visa services. Our overseas missions will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.
The Harbor Master in Newport has been appointed the sentinel for enforcement of the quarantine by the City Mayor.

The boating industry continues to operate in the state, but under strict COVID-19 related restrictions outlined by the state Department of Environmental Management DEM as a result of an executive order by Gov. Gina Raimondo.
“Rhode Island municipalities are responsible for enforcing any quarantine order by the governor on vessels within their jurisdiction,” said Gail Mastrati, DEM spokesperson. “DEM does not have a role in this.”
Usually, it is up to city and town councils to appoint a “sentinel.” Under state of emergency powers, City Manager Joseph J. Nicholson Jr. appointed Harbormaster Tim Mills as Newport’s sentinel.
The crew and passengers in any boat coming from out-of-state must quarantine on the vessel here for 14 days and must wave a quarantine flag known as the “International Maritime Signal Flag L-Lima.”
For a ship docked in a harbor the flag means, “The ship is quarantined,”

We encourage yachts needing dockage to contact our Dock Office via email (NSYDockOffice@shmarinas.com) and we will respond in a timely manner with availability, rates, approach instructions, and we will do our best to answer questions related to: quarantine rules, provisioning, local available amenities, medical access, and more. We are remaining positive and hopeful that the actions taken by the Governor of RI and our residents to proactively minimize the spread of COVID-19 will pay dividends in the weeks and months ahead. We look forward to welcoming you to Newport and please contact us with any questions you may have.

Look who’s whining. Your post nothing but whining and inflammatory language. Projection much?
Deal with the factual information in this thread or read something else. Attacking members of the forum who report on current harbor rules to benefit all is useless.
Grow up and find something productive to do with your time other than internet strongman attacks.
You literally don’t even know what you’re talking about. Just trying to start with me.
Look at the post above from Montanan. You’re completely wrong. Out of state ships are indeed allowed and must quarantine for 14 days aboard then are free to stay as long as they like. So long as they’re wealthy enough to pay Newport slip fees.
Anyone planning to anchor? Sit for 14 days without leaving your vessel then Get lost. That’s the official policy. Straight from Tim Mills. In writing.
So before you start attacking anyone again, at least read something about the topic.

Not much different out at Block Island. It is looking like RI is pretty much canceling summer. Many of the locals out there would prefer it that way every year.

Yep - nothing in the mainstream media is without some political bias, and much of it is either partly or entirely wrong or sensationalized - most discouraging.
Another good primary source of COVID-19 information is https://connect.medrxiv.org/relate/content/181
Just note the disclaimer: "these are preliminary reports that have not been peer-reviewed. They should not be regarded as conclusive, guide clinical practice/health-related behavior, or be reported in news media as established information." - good information from non-political sources, nonetheless.

True. With any luck, we’ll see these rules evolve as things quiet down with the virus.

Re: Newport RI Regulations Report 2020
Update:
The 14 day quarantine will be lifted June 1.
The 14 day anchor limit will continue to be in effect as it has been for years.
At least now the harbor is useful again.

FYI:
Rhode Island Phase II protocols:
Domestic travel restrictions relaxed. 14-day quarantine remains only for those returning to RI from an area still under stay at home restrictions.
In Phase II, restaurants may begin limited indoor dining in addition to outdoor dining (subject to applicable municipal approval) as well as pick-up, delivery, and drive-through operations.
Always glad to hear of referrals to favorite dining establishments.
Be sure to make reservations as seating is only allowed at restaurants by prior reservations, as the social distancing protocols preclude waiting for an opening. Also seating capacity is significantly constrained by the large distancing required between tables edges - 8 feet, and fully 6 feet distance from foot traffic routes in the restaurant. Indoor seating limited to no more than 50% of pre-Covid configuration.
But specifically as to Cafe Zelda not seeing calamari offered on their menu. Maybe it will be added in the future. Bon appetit.

Hello All, We are headed to Newport from Sag Harbor and are planning on getting a mooring due to apparent anchorage closure, meanwhile we are trying to contact a mobile boat mechanic, Charlie Anderson who've we've used several years ago and he was great! We lost his contact info and would appreciate it if someone could share it, thanks

If you are coming from New York [e.g., Sag Harbor] it appears that presently you are NOT subject to a 14 day quarantine upon entry to the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. Note the list is constantly changing so one needs to review at time of entry.
Reference link:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...le=true&lsrp=1
States with travel restrictions upon entry to Rhode Island : Sheet1
If you are coming to Rhode Island from one of the states listed below with a positivity rate of COVID-19 greater than 5%, you are required to self-quarantine for 14 days while in Rhode Island. As an exception, you may provide proof of a negative test for COVID-19 that was taken within 72 hours prior to arrival in Rhode Island. If you receive a test during your quarantine in Rhode Island and get a negative test result, you can stop quarantining. However, you still need to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days, wear a mask in public, and follow physical distancing guidelines. You also must quarantine while waiting for a negative test result.
Quarantining for 14 days is always preferred over relying on a negative test result as quarantining is the best way to limit the possibility of spreading COVID-19.

Re: Newport RI Regulations Report 2020
Thanks for a most thorough briefing! We have all had negative test results with the last week and all are summer residents of Sag Harbor NY We also found a prefect spot in the anchorage area. Thanks again
