I think it depends on my mood. Little Dix bay, Virgin Gorda is calm and beautiful and has the best food ashore of any resort in the Caribbean. Leinster Bay or Cinnamon Bay, St. John have great coral reefs and if you leave your spreader lights on at dusk the sharks and spotted eagle rays will teem beneath the boat and are a thing to behold. The best sunsets are Cane Garden Bay, Tortola if you anchor away from the moorings. Peter island is pretty awesome too.

I can certainly agree with Cane Garden Bay sunsets, and everyone seems to love Peter Island!
I know it's a bit of an aside, but do you think the spreader lights attract the sharks and rays or just allow us to see them? I only aks 'cos I love going for a late night dip just before bed, but might need to think again if the latter is true!

One of the perks for going to St. John is the snorkeling. I have snorkled every time and not seen any sharks during the day. You do see an occasional eagle ray. The sharks stay in deeper water until dusk when the go to shallower water to feed. The lights simply attrack the fish that are already there. None of these are harmful to man to the best of my knowledge. The next time you go there ask one of the hosts who get free mooring to stay in the anchorage and collect mooring fees. They are very knowledgable about the sea life.

Thanks rjrendemd - I'll do that but still might just stay out of the water whilst I can't see what's sneaking up on me!
