Hi! I'm an experienced sailor and have anchored thousands of times but never feel 100% after anchoring, so prefer mooring balls! Does anyone know if mooring balls are easy to find in Belize around Placencia?

Hi Kristall,

Portbooker.com says the Peninsula Club in Placencia has 100 amarres (moorings) but it would be a good idea to check with them to make sure of current status and availability...

Maybe others around as well. Be careful when asking for "amarres" in Spanish. Amarres de Amor are a whole different ball of wax... jajaja.

Years ago there was a program to install moorings at many of the more popular anchorages. Many moorings were installed, but not maintained. So those are gone.
