Re: Croatian anchoring costs/Malta Winters

Polux is right - the croations aren't destroying their sailing industry by chasing the higher value charter market (far from it with cruising tourism up another 20% last year i was told) but they are destroying the quality of their cruising grounds by effectively turning their bays into rv parks.

Definitely less fat nakedness in Italy and Greece so far. I'm putting that down to the catholic and Greek orthodox religion making the locals less tolerant (thank god!)

Otherwise, the space on the Bojča will cost you about 10 kN per meter and standing in the harbor at around 160kn for the ship to 14 meters

Yes, in Italy and Balearic Islands the nakedness is quite agreeable. It seems that the only ones doing it are the ones proud of their bodies. Big motor yacht are even a bit nicer since their eventual ugliness is compensated with other forms of beauty. Motorboats seem to be more decorated on that particular then sailingboats.

In Greece I lay anchor on a small cove and when I went ashore was surprised to find everybody naked. Not fat ones, mostly young people. They have a big auto-regulated natural naked camping there. Clean and looking good in a hippie way. Had some drinks at night on the bar. At night they are dressed

Saw a lot of adverts by the local Greek community with prohibitions on nakedness (on the beach) but nobody seemed to care.

Agree no complaints there either. We had a similar incidence in menorca where we went ashore to find an "unmarked" nudist colony. Lotsa laughs.

Still mentally scarred by one fattie nude sunbathing on her bow farting all afternoon like a trumpet back in croatia though. Thank god we were up wind

But then hubby came forward to lift the anchor by hand. Oh the humanity.

I think you need to have more respect for local traditions. We sound The Last Post at sunset; in the Balkans the traditional sundowner is Fanfare on the Old Bum Trumpet ...
