I was looking through some old posts on here about anchoring set up for cats and saw you ran yours from the bridge-deck under the crossbar... this is what I have been think of doing on my cat but haven't found any example of it and have been contemplating how how to set up the anchor roller on the under side. Did you have one custom made? Modify a production anchor roller? Any tips or advice on that would be greatly appreciated!
Btw I have a 37' older performance coastal cruising cat.
Hi Barra,
I saw an old thread that you "We are an Australian flagged boat that is VAT paid".
We are Australian citizens and wanting to buy a Spanish registered yacht that has had VAT paid. We plan to do 3-6 months in French canals/the Med and the rest back in Oz.
The parts that are totally unclear are: VAT:
- When you said that to keep the "VAT paid", the "transfer occurred inside the EU" do you mean you transferred money from Australia to an EU bank account? Or that you were physically there?
- Did you have problems keeping "VAT paid" status?
Ship registry:
- As Australians, AMSA says we must transfer registry to Australia. Did you?
Non-EU citizens:
- This appears to be the Shengen time periods where a yacht's crew and captain can only be there for 6 months of a year. Did you have that problem? Is there any other Shengen "stuff" we need to be aware of?
Is there anything else from your experience that would help us? (please).
