Hi,
I bought a 1976 yacht from the EU, the
boat is tax exempt because it was in the EU before 1992. I want to change the
registration to
Australia because it is easier for me to get an MMSI then it is in the
Netherlands.
The
boat wont be leaving EU any time soon.
Would this lead to any issues with tax or do i just need to keep the documents that show the boat was in EU before 1992 close by.
The main reason I want to change to Aust registrar is because in NL they wont accept my
commercial long range
radio cert, so i would have to spend a few 100 euro doing the course again then pay a yearly fee to maintain the
license. The Aus
registration allows me to register an MMSI with no yearly fee and with the AUD tanking its actually about the same
price or cheaper in the long run.
