This is a 400AH LiFePO4 bank. Brand is AmpereTime.

it has been very cloudy and rainy and I only have half my solar hooked up. I’m about to hook the rest up right now because the weather dictates it

so, I have a battery charger running off of one of my generators. I also just had the sun come out at the same time for half of my solar charging capability added to the AC battery charger.

Look at this!

This 400ah bank is accepting almost 100A of charging right now.

INCREDIBLY efficient charging from a generator.
I am glad that makes you so happy. Happy is good.

Kind of like my 24V, 464 A-hour carbon AGMs that accept charge from my generator at 200 Amps (~5kW) (it's all I got... they'd take more). That makes me happy.

For my batteries the recommended MINIMUM charge rate is 0.2C (93 Amps)

Re: Look at This Lithium Charge Rate!

We spent the weekend sailing and anchoring in the FloriBama Panhandle. Beautiful! The previous Sunday, I pulled the trigger and purchased two 300ah Epoch LiFePO4 to replace my three Group 29 FLA (Amazingly still working at five years of constant use!) The Epoch batteries arrived in Pensacola on Tuesday from Atlanta(or someplace..). I immediately began communicating with my new friends (Sven and Petra) via BlueTooth. They confirmed they were ready to work at 36% SOC. On Wednesday, they slipped comfortably into their new home aboard Cat's Meow. The Sterling Ultra Pro 40 went to work shoveling all the coal it could muster into the new batteries. About twelve hours later, the Epoch batteries reached 100% SOC. I turned off the Sterling charger Thursday morning. Charged again for three hours Friday morning before setting sail. Then, glorious, sailing and relaxing until Sunday afternoon when we docked again. Gamechanger? Hell yeah!

Re: Look at This Lithium Charge Rate!

I can appreciate Chotu's excitement about the real world performance of these lithium battery systems. I didn't mean to hijack his thread though. I just thought another example of a similar battery system would complement his thread. At about twenty cents an ah more, the Epoch is heated (I hope I never need that attribute ) and I demonstrated the bluetooth connection with the BMS which is encouraged/required by ABYC etc. (Can you tell I am not an expert yet?) However, I immediately heard Rod (MaineSail) whispering in my ear when my relatively new Sterling Charger pinged at 40+ amps ("...just because it can does not mean it should!" MHT).

What took so long? I've been doing the research for some time. It was time to push the go button. I'm glad I did. Still scary, just not quite as scary. Happy Halloween!

So it’s whatever. I hate this thread. Please just delete it. I’m not looking at it anymore.

Not interested in all the nitpicking. Pretty sorry that I shared anything.

Putting this entire thread on ignore

Request the moderators delete my thread please.
Cheer up... forums can be tiresome..
