Yes, that's the one. It's believed they hit a concrete post near the station. She sat on the bottom for a month and was sold for $1000 I think. There was a Coast Guard investigation. Had 4 different names but was originally called Osiris. We went back to the original.

It isn't oriental but it is close... Check the marine industrial area at Jarrett Bay. There are several yards there.

Re: Staying with boat in Oriental, NC

Found one! (My yacht broker's boatyard, Triton Yachts, who are great guys by the way.)

Sure, getting accommodation nearby would be lovely, but it would set me back 4k a month unless I wanted to rent a house for a year and furnish it. (Please, Poseidon, help me not be in this boatyard for a full year.)

There will be some jobs where I'll pop over to the hotel for a few days. But I'd rather spend my money on the boat. They have bathrooms and showers, and I'll have power and water access. *shrugs* Better than I have when I'm backpacking!

Missed this thread, but yea Hurricane is by far the best for live aboard DIY types.
They aren't a full service yard like Zimmerman (formerly Deaton) Sailcraft and Wayfarers, but much more laid back and more accommodating.
Sadly, if you don't have a car, Hurricane is "in the middle of nowhere."

I see you have a HC 33 as well. They had 3 of us there last fall.
