Crossing Lousiana Coast

I am a new member on Cruisers Forum. If I am not using this forum correctly please let me know.

I am getting ready to Sail my Boat across the Coast of Louisiana to Florida. I would like to get any information from others that have done this. The only information I have been able to find is of people that have gone out 100 miles of shore to get across. I am planning on crossing the coast maybe 10 to 15 miles off shore. plan on going to to anchorages or marinas on the way. I would like to hear from others that have done this. I have gone on the intercoastal a couple of times do not want go in the ditch this time.

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure others will share their experience with this stretch of coast. That's a little farther west than I usually go.
