Deep harbours st. Lawrence seaway?

I plan on heading out the great lakes via the st. Lawrence... I'm trying to locate harbours that can accommodate my 8.5' draft...
Starting with the Toronto area... (planned as my first rest stop...
Thanks

By harbours, do you mean marinas, or anchorages? We draw 6’. We left from Lake Ontario, and anchored all the way down to Newfoundland. Only went into two marinas.

I’m sure all the anchorages would accommodate your deeper draft. But I’m sure you will be challenged with that draft in many marinas.

Actually both! What I'd like is a list of places that I can stop knowing the depth is good..
I'm solo and i hear going out the river can be tricky plus being able to stop and rest is very important...

Yes, there is ➥ https://www.nauticalmind.com/67506/c...bec-waterways/

There's also: “The St. Lawrence Seaway Pleasure Craft Guide”

I have the list of all the anchorages we used, but it’s on my computer (I’m on my ipad now). When I pull it out I can try and post it.

The two marinas we went into were Portneuf and Baie Comeau. Otherwise we anchored out. I’m sure you know this, but the stretch from west of Quebec City, down past the Saguenay has some pretty massive tides: 14’+ in some areas. And big tidal current. Anchoring is very … interesting [emoji6].

Here's a file containing all the anchorages we either looked at, or used (most of them). It's an export from iNavx, and is in '.kml' format. This can be read by Google Earth, along with some other programs.

Hope it helps.

Down East Circle Route by Cheryl Barr.

It has the advantage of giving calculations for the current and tide timing.

We did it with 5-1/2’ draft.

The other good resource is Active Captain. Harder to access since purchase by Garmin.

We access it through AquaMaps on an iPhone or Android. Then you need to register in Active Captain and then you can download AC data to AquaMaps. After that it will auto update.

Costs a few bucks, pretty reasonable, cheap actually for a spare plotter.

Get Cheryl Barr’s Downeast Circle Book and the Canadian Currents Guide for the St. Lawrence. There are massive current differentials depending on tide state and location in the river from Quebec onward.
