Re: Albin Vega 27

The Vega gets a lot of attention, but Albin made a whole line of good-looking boats.

Yep, got one. In very good shape. As follows:

For Sale:
1972 Albin Vega 27’ sailboat on trailer, equipped for cruising and ocean crossings. Well-kept, clean and refit, ready to trailer, ready to sail. The last two years on the hard have been used to upgrade and repair/replace/recaulk/rebed/touch up after 6 years of extensive cruising to California, Hawaii and all along the BC west coast. Heavy fiberglass construction. No blisters, no delamination. Solid and dependable.

This bluewater-proven sailboat is ready to sail across oceans today, without breaking the bank. Have you always wanted to sail to Fiji, the Marquesasas, Hawaii, New Zealand? Or even around the world? This is the right boat to do exactly that. Trailer to San Diego first and jump right in the tradewinds to avoid the coastal pounding if you want. Stop dreaming and go. Live your dream. Easy to singlehand.

9hp inboard diesel removed and reconfigured for extra storage. Fully ready for replacement diesel with rebuilt mounting beds, propeller, shaft, tank with fittings, cutless bearings, stuffing box all in place. Exhaust and prop outlet stubs glassed for waterproofing, but easily restored if desired.

Comes with 6hp four-stroke Yamaha outboard on stern bracket that pushes it at 5.5 knot hull speed.

Equipped with the following:

• Dual-axle trailer with brakes and receiver hitch with ball and towing stabilizer system. Wheel bearings were replaced 50 km ago
• 2014 standing rigging, upsized from original by one diameter (3/16” to 7/64”)

Lofrans manual windlass with ¼” chain gypsy for Bruce anchor
