i joke simple is stupid telling how much is you produce in A. A is use only for calculating fuse sizing, cable sizing. Also is stupid markings battery in amps. but manufacture make this trick before like are standard.
i Victron MPPT show you how much you watt harvest not Amp
230A is what ends up in the batteries - you can change that back into watts etc as you please - the end result is that those solar panels manage to recharge my batteries even when we have used a lot of juice.

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Most of us don't see it as a competition but rather what our needs are.

Some folks try to duplicate their life on land on their boats while others of us realize the aim is to sail to various places and maybe not be quite as comfortable as on land.

I have 4 panels only one of which I don't move or rotate regularly to get the maximum benefit from. Total with all hooked up is 160 watts but usually I just have 120 watts going with two panels. These charge two 220 ah Golf cart batteries.

This is my sole source of power for lights, fans, electronics to include autopilot, computers, AIS / OpenCPN display on and HDTV etc, etc

for 10% money you can buy proper solar panel. for example
2x 190 140cmx70 and mount on rail 120€ x2
on new arch 2x150 1.1m x 0,7 110€ x2
300w flinsail is 2500€

2x150W 220€
But in real world after 6 month more produce 1 solar panel 100W vs flexible 300w
I disagree, we have 400 watt of semi flexible panels onour bimini which are doing fine. Cost price is about 120€ per 100 Watt which seems also reasonable…

Re: Monohull solar

I know its been argued religiously but wind is noisy and vibrates. Usually noisy enough to bother neighbors.

Regardless of estimating techniques, wind is a poor competitor to solar in every way except square footage - which can be dispositive especially on mono's.
