Monitor Shore Power for outageS.

I’m looking for a shore power monitoring solution to get an email or notification alert if shore power goes off.

There are WIFI products that I’ve looked at but if power fails WIFI will likely be offline too. There’s a MarCELL product and iSocket that use cellular but need a cellular plan and the sending units are expensive.

Has anyone found a good low cost solution? Perhaps something that uses a purchased SIM?

A marina neighbor who is down there daily or one of the marina employees. It shouldn't be hard to find someone willing to take a caretaking gig for some cash.

Yes but 30 a month adds up and the mains can lie unconnected for days.

Re: Monitor Shore Power for outageS.

To not rely on the Marina Wi-fi, you will atleast need to pay for a celluar data plan.

Google : GSM Alarm Monitoring, or GSM 8 channel Alarm dailer. You"ll get hits on 8 channel input, SIM solted 12vdc dailers for under $60 USD.

Add a 230vac powered relay on your boat AC mains, use the NC contacts from the relay to close on power failure ( fail safe) to activate the 12vdc powered dailer.

You"ll have spare input contacts on the dailer for use to monitor bilge pump running, forced entry etc too.:

Re: Monitor Shore Power for outageS.

When we had to leave the boat for periods of time in the harbor [years ago... full time now...] I installed a Siren Marine monitoring system.

I added sensors for temperature [inside boat, freezer, etc.] bilge pump, high water, motion sensor, shore power, etc.

A great solution that works on cell or satellite- internationally.

FWIW

Cheers! Bill
