Freydis 49 Refit ( Electrical Power)

Currently the vessel is set up in the European way 230V at 50Hz
The Generator is a 5KW Paguro producing as above
All outlets are French type. I will have to install a counter top type transformer for some US style kitchen tools

Inverter charger is a Mass Combi 24/2500-60

DC is 24V with a small transformer to power 12v cigarette lighter type outlets.
Batteries are 8 x T105 Trojans giving approximately 450 Ah at 24v but I intend to replace with lithium when they quit.
No solar right now but it's on the list probably something like 600W

Main DC draw is 2 Schenker 24v water makers consuming 400W each for a total of around 34 amps.
2 Harken St50 Electric winches at 2000W each
Tigress Windlass 1500 W

After 2 attempts and 800$ wasted dollars I think I will replace the Paguro with new. I have made the decision to stay with the Paguro It fits in the space and is very lightweight compared to others.
The charging on the Mass Combi does not appear to be working. It inverts ok. But I have to ship it back to mastervolt for repairs. Depending on the repair cost, i may just replace

Reading Jedi's Electrical power thread plus the Isolation transformer debate I am thinking to change the Mass combi for a separate charger and inverter. Intend to use mastervolt or victron.
Would like to be able to use both 110 60Hz or 230 50Hz shore power as available. Main AC load is 2 Mermaid A/C units 220V (50/60 Hz Dual)

Looking at the mastervolt Mass GI 3500 $1000
Mass 24/100 Charger 2700$
Mass sine 24/2500 2500$

Does this make sense design wise.

not sure what the equivalent Victron is but working on it.

Regards
Paul

Re: Freydis 49 Refit ( Electrical Power)

Ended up with
1 mastervolt chargemaster 100A multi input voltage 50/60hz
1 mass sine 2500w. 24v to 230
1 mass sine 2500w 24 to 110

Installed new 110 circuit running only off the inverter into kitchen salon and engine bay

The engine start batteries are 12 v and charged via the generator only. I am thinking to change to 2 ( one for each engine compartment guest type marine chargers 6 or 10 amp plugged into the 110 inverter supplied circuit. Ie charged off the house bank.
Not sure if I need to manually turn these off and on when required or if they can be left always on.
The alternators are 24 volt and the dc to dc chargers were 450$ each vs 75 for the guest.
Any other solutions?
Regards
Paul
