Fischer Panda 3.8 Generator Not Producing Voltage

Our 2006 3.8kW genset starts up but is not producing voltage to the panel. It was working fine and now no AC power. Trying to get a service call, but was told it will be a while. Any tips on things I can check? Oil, coolant are good. We just serviced the cooling system a month ago. We have a 2006 Jeanneau SO 37. Thanks!

Re: Fischer Panda 3.8 Generator Not Producing Voltage

we have a different gennie (mase IS 5.0) which stopped out-putting AC a while ago. turned out that a 20mF capacitor in the system had failed - cost abt 50 cents

of course to find this there was a $200 labour cost as well...

try replacing the capacitor in yours : easy & cheap, but no guarantee...

cheers,

3.8?! Not 4.2kw?

Either way, the panda generators all have a remote mounted control box for the generator. Within it are a bunch of capacitors.

I’ll wager one of these has gone bad.
