Hello guys,
I want to fit an ammeter on my Seamaster 27 (Perkins 4108) ca. 1972. I have the ammeter, the instructions say to ''connect into the red wire going from the
alternator to the battery''. Here's my problem; the red wire goes to a small 'battery' shaped dashboard light, then back to the
battery. This light comes on as part of the ignition when starting, the sequence when the key is turned is: on,
battery light, hold for glowplugs, then start. Can I remove this light and replace it directly with the ammeter? Any
advice appreciated.
