Burnt out compass light = rudder fell off

Didnt happen to me but I did see it:
Short in compass light
Compass with metal body is mounted on metal steering pedestal
Connected to metal chains and wires sheaves and quadrant
To aluminum spade rudder shaft
Stray current corrosion especially in warm waters with lots of water movement...
Bye bye rudder in less than a week!
