Question Anodes

I wonder if anyone could help? I have a Beneteau Oceanis 40 with two anodes: one in the propeller, which is almost consumed, and another in the hull, which is as new. On closer inspection, the hull anode has been disconnected and the cable cut at the base. Why was this done? and where should it be reconnected if so.

Thanks! Horacio

Re: Anodes

Any Anode that isn't being "consumed" isn't working, I had a Mercury Verado outboard that had an anode that never needed replacing, I took it off to find nice shiny paint under the mounting points isolating it.
For your boat I'd find a user group, they most likely can tell you where and how your anode is connected, and possibly even why it was disconnected.

Are you certain it is not a grounding plate? I have never known a Beneteau 40 to come from the factory with a hull anode installed.
