The small higher risk LI chemistries are dangerous enough as tiny batts enclosed and protected by their engineered
electronics in our gadgets.
They spontaneously ignite / explode all the time, we live with that risk, OK.
If you're DIYing yourself with non-LFP batts out in the back shed, fine and good.
But living in a small mobile space with your science
experiment, sorry but no, stick to LFP. Especially on a
boat.
If you can't afford to be safe then wait and save up until you can.
A $30 lead batt and 12V to USB converter will get the job done cheaply from a practical POV too.
