Yanmar 4JH4E engine mount recall

Has anyone heard of a change out of engine mounts by Yanmar for these engines ? Apparently, the mounts were too weak, and needed to be changed out.

Hi Ripples 2,
Did you get anywhere with your research on engine mounts?

Re: Yanmar 4JH4E engine mount recall

I'm getting this 3rd hand from a reliable source, as opposed to directly from Yanmar, which I am trying to contact.

Yanmar, after analyzing repairs on engine mounts determined that the silent blocks of the engine mounts of some models were undersized, and the required spacers were missing, and have initiated a change out to fix this.

Again, 3rd hand, and I have no direct info from Yanmar yet, so I would not jump to any conclusions at this time.

If I get more info, will post.

Re: Yanmar 4JH4E engine mount recall

I had a 440 for 3 years 2007 to 2010 hull #220, now have a 450, but my engine mounts went twice. Contacted lagoon and they didn't want to know, I sorted it myself and modified them with a spacer welded on to the bolt.
Without this spacer the bolt sitting up which the engine sits on just shears in in a decent swell,
The 450 seems to to not have the same problem as it all seems fine so far.
From what I can gather these engines should be mounted on 4 mounts instead of 3 .

Re: Yanmar 4JH4E engine mount recall

Yanmar replaced the silent blocks on the Port 2009 engine (the starboard engine is 2006 version), unfortunately before I got to the boat, so could not talk to the Yanmar rep directly. This refit was done at no charge and all three blocks were changed, spacers installed.

Have now been on the boat for 1 week, getting the boat ready, some small repairs, and next week, we should finally be sailing around Guadeloupe as a start to our new life
