Lagoon 450 Modifications

Ok here is another mod that every Lagoon owner should do day 1 unless Lagoon have sorted out the cheap rusting iron fitting recently? The for and aft sections of the hull have drains. I have fitting Hansen valves and will continue to replace where possible. Two fingers light pressure to open or close [emoji1] wonderful.

PS still working well and no problems with these valves for the Yanmar raw water cooling inlet.

Re: Lagoon 450 Modifications

I took some red line, doubled it up and glued it on the bottom off the chain trench.
Further I have 3 coats of pick up truck bed liner sprayed on the sides.
Works great, only complaint would be when it needs to be cleaned it takes some effort

Hi Steve,

Could you give details on how your secured the forward backrest cushions to avoid being blown away or moving when leaned on? (Rails, snaps ?) Did you have to drill in or rather epoxy / stick on the attachments ?

Thanks,
Dean

I use tie down straps, the ones with a buckle. 1 for each side cushion and 2 for the middle. I’ve left the cushions out since we launched last June so all types of weather / wind and no issues.

Thanks for the reply. Are the straps attached to the seat cushions or to an attachment point secured to the deck?

I fitted the same 25mm attachments that are used to secure the cockpit surrounds down. Fit them behind the cushions and they can’t be seen anyway. They’re screwed into the gel coat.

We’ve 2 straps securing the middle cushion and 1 strap each end.

Very nice.

May I ask from where you bought the white brackets ? (which I think are called Footman Loops).

Regards

Mark.

Re: Lagoon 450 Modifications

Hi guys!

I just bought myself a beautiful Lagoon 450 and I am about to order solar panels! I have been reading trough this forum and looked at all the pictures.

I am looking at putting 5 x 300 watts on the back, building a stainless tube frame and it will look good.

My only concern is that the 300 watt panels will go to far back, making my new good looking baby look like a spaceship.

Does anyone have any pictures of your solar installations from the side, I mean a picture of the boat from the side?

I seems like a 300 watt panel will go almost 1660 mm from the roof and back- correct?

Ok- enough about this- hoping for replies!

Re: Lagoon 450 Modifications

I have a 400S2 only, but I do like my solar (5x 330Wh/ 96 cell panels), it gives some more shade and protection from rain. It is great providing energy and looks not ugly either...

450S or 450F? With the F you can fit 960W on the bigger bimini.
