you are ignoring saildrive cooling. Saildrive oil gets really hot. Without cooling will get even hotter which may cause other unexpected issues.

Re: Lagoon 450 Modifications

Hi DavefromNZ

Are your Hansen valves fitted to your SD's still functioning ok?

What size Hansen valves did you install on your SD as sea cocks? Did they require any additional fittings for installing into your SD - if so what was required?

Thanks Brett

Re: Lagoon 450 Modifications

Hi Brett. Yep still working well. Sorry I can't remember the size but it was big, maybe 3/4 inch. Then needed to make up the connections for the 90 deg bend. The hose did not need to be altered at all. I used a very big spanned to get the old tap out. Cheers. Dave

Thanks Dave, I too will need a very big spanner.

Did you apply a little heat to get it started?

It makes me wish I'd have got my own cushions made instead of going for the Lagoon ones.

They look great, nice job!

I could not agree more.

The Blue and Pink dogs just totally clash with the Grey/Black carbon fiber dynamic of the new Upholstery material.

Perhaps the dogs need to be a different colour.

Yes. I'm not sure whether Steve450 knows that he has opened a whole can of worms with dogs clashing with upholstery.

Our dogs did not match, so in the interest of sympathetic colour coordination, had to be euthanized post haste.

Perhaps those beautiful Bichons could be be traded for a more suitable breed with carbon fibre grey/black colouration? Irish wolf hounds or Canadian timber wolves?

Re: Lagoon 450 Modifications

Steve450,

The forward, helm and cockpit cushions in your photos look indentical to what was on the new 2018 450F shown at the recent boat show. I was told these are now the standard factory cushions. Is that not the case? Did you order yours custom and if so from whom?

Re: Lagoon 450 Modifications

Here is another mod I did today. Got annoyed with the slapping anchor chain in the gutter so I fitted a roller:

Re: Lagoon 450 Modifications

This is now a must do job on my vessel. For some inexplicable reason after fitting a new anchor chain 3 weeks ago, it has gone from an annoying slap in the trough to the chain leaping out of the trough up unto the deck when recovering without any load on it.
