Re: Wanted, Lady for 103' Motor Yacht

Maybe he should put hostess needed, this way it's already female orientated. This way he won’t be breaking any federal law and some with way too much time to read can be constructive. I never thought I’d see the day where asking for help and offering a job in a down turned economy would create discrimination litigation it is really sad that people actually look at life from such a narrow view.
imho

Gee whiz Sara, can't we have some fun? Everything doesn't have to be so serious all the time. I never got to see captainKJs pic and I know it would have been "special". Like him.

Actually a group of Male job applicants sued Hooters for that exact same reason. The applicants lost, Hooters won. The judge upheld it is legal for an employer to uphold job qualifications including gender in service oriented professions.

There are numerous other examples, massause, dancer, even physician, etc...

Re: Wanted, Lady for 103' Motor Yacht

Hi Otto
If your still looking for a crew- I know of a great Pro woman who has been crewing large yachts for many years she took a break for a little while and worked with me this summer in the Med and will be looking for a job starting in Dec- she’s great all around onboard and can cook well also- she worked for me as hostess and cook this summer and even when up the mast for me- she’s good looking and fun also- and has many good references- drop me a line if you’re looking she lives in S Florida- I highy recommend her, they dont come any better-

Re: Wanted, Lady for 103' Motor Yacht

Its easy to discriminate male vs female. Just accept the applications from the specific gender you seek. But don't advertise. But in the end, who cares. gender discrimination has all but disappeared. Hillary for president, female PMs all over the globe and very soon a female pope. Ok just kidding about the pope, might have to wait another two thousand years for that one.

But good luck to the OP. Hope he gets what he is looking for either way. Balanced gender on board can be a good thing.

Re: Wanted, Lady for 103' Motor Yacht

As it turns out, in the US if part of the job description requires gender, the gender can be specified. A Hooters girl is gender specific, by definition. A host or hostess is not. If you advertise for hostess and a court determines that a host would do, you could be liable for damages. This was not legal advice.

Don't know Ken, I thought of you for this job right off at the orginal post before everything got started with the replies. Even if you are the chef who resulted in rack of lamb with potato chips for dinner.

Re: Wanted, Lady for 103' Motor Yacht

Hi I am looking for a position as you describe. I am a very pretty sexy genuine 37 year old, who looks 30. Have sailing experience and double degree in finance and statistics. Work in investment management but want to take a break from it. No baggage. No children or partner, just love being on the water.
