I've got a hand crank but I don't know what it fits and it would be for sale cheap. Do you have a photo of what one should look like?

kind regards,

Thanks for the offer.... I'm not too sharp on penta MD similarities; do you have any idea if this would be interchangeable between the two? It may just be worth a try anyways. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Volvo MD7 Hand Crank

The engines look very similar with the same crank point location. We are travelling till the end of the month so can't check the measurements before then. Anyone else out there know.

Marine parts Europe exploded views.

They appear to be different, but I didn't spend a lot of time looking.

Re: Volvo MD7 Hand Crank

PSL, the crank you show in post #3 doesnt appear to be a stock Volvo crank. It extends much farther out than the crank on my MD7, or the one on the link to the parts list. Much will depend on the woodwork around your engine for clearances. Good Luck. ______Grant.

Re: Volvo MD7 Hand Crank

I will try to photo the one I have once I figure out why windows 8.1 will not allow me to capture photos from my camera.

It has a 7V on the side, has angled straight shaft unlike the one in the diagram.

Re: Volvo MD7 Hand Crank

My MD2 crank will fit a 25cm/1" shaft. Looks like it is designed to for a 10cm/3/8" engagement pin on the cam shaft. The cam shaft can insert 57cm/2.25" into the crank. $5 for the crank. Looks like shipping will take a medium sized USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box. Think that's about $12 but will have to see what the PO comes up with. The crank will be recycled if no one wants it.

I had to have the crank for the MD2 on my Westsail extended about 2'. Easy cut and weld extension shaft for a welder.

i have the MD6A and my crank looks like the one pictured here.

if you cant find one, they would not be to hard to make. chunk of pipe that fits in the spot and then grind the notches to fit the pin, then simply weld on a handle.
