I have 4 brand new Fortress FX-55 anchors for sale. They are rated for up to a 58' boat, weigh only 32lbs.( replacing 65lb. steel anchors.), break down easily for storage, all with nice finishes and red engraved lettering. They make awesome storm anchors since you can store them under the floor of most boats. I will ship anywhere at your expense, Or deliver if your near Mobile, AL. These anchors generally sell for $650-750 at marine stores, asking $400.00.

Just curious, are these anchors from last year's Gulf oil spill? We shipped a bunch of FX-55 models into that area for use with the oil boom containment systems.

Actually yes they are. I was contracted to Bp through another company. I was the captain of a large landing craft,kind of the mothership for our group. That company would use us as a staging area for all the boom and anchors and equipment . These 4 anchors were brand new in the box, but incomplete as kits. These kits needed the anchor stocks so ended up being set aside. Once the contract was over I ask the BP head guy if he wanted them, he said get rid of them. I called Fortress and purchased the missing parts. Now I'm selling them. FYI, I had a GPS/ sonar list of about 850 large anchors that needed to be pulled up after the fact. I believe the order was to leave them. Evidently it was taking far too long for our crews to find them and BP pulled the plug . Be very careful around the Miss, AL Gulf coast!
