One of the problems we had while cruising to other countries was getting on and off the
boat in
marinas. Sometimes we needed to
dock with the bow pointing into the
dock so it was necessary to use the bow platform to get on and off the
boat. Problem was the bow platform was 3 to 4 feet (1 meter or so) above the dock. So we got this folding ladder so we could climb up to the bow platform without having to swing from a
halyard like a monkey or climb and balance on dock boxes to reach the bow platform. There are catch plates available from
marine stores to secure the ladder to the bow platform if desired.

The ladder can also be hung over the gunwales amidship and used to get on and off your boat from a
