Anchor Windlass for 36'

Looking to purchase a windlass for my Islander 36' sloop.. Im also looking for the bridge clearance on my vessel?

Although you might find written data for you mast height there can be models with different riggings. Before clearing bridges, I would advise that you take a direct measurement. Sixty foot tape measurers are common and one could be raised on your main halyard with a binocular view identifying the location near the masthead. The remaining mastheast span and waterline to base of mast can be easily summed. Of course, you may search out the number from other owners, but before running under with questionable clearance, it would be best to have the directly observed number.

rofl..i was gonna measure mine but i found specs on leaky taky yacht club for my mainmast height-- from keel to masthead i fit under icw bridges even at destin!!!!!! now if the depth would coincide .......
does your marque have spec sheets? if so , those should show mast height from step to top......

Yes measuring is the correct answer. I do thank all for reply's, plan on doing this this week. It seems when I do ask ? you all have good things too add,I'm just saying this forum is a great deal too be on with all of you. Were planning on taking off again in October going too sail back down to Marathon fl for a few months with trip to Dry Tortugas, and some where into the Bahamas this year, maybe we see some of you down thier?
