Lavezzi 40: Lavezzi 40 galley organization

For those Lavezzi owners who (like me) have struggled with the non existence of galley drawers… here’s some ideas plus a few more galley organization tips for those full time cruisers;
1. Standard cutlery trays mounted to slide out from under shelf
2. Pull out bin (customized finger pull and reinforced) mounted to slide out from under galley sink
3. Wine glass rack mounted to ceiling of upper cabinet
4. Paper towel shelf/rack plus canister shelves mounted to upper cabinet from Amazon
Plus I added a breadbox that fit perfectly on the galley counter.
It’s a working progress TBC lol 😆

Thanks for posting your pictures of your galley storage. Mine is also limited on a 42' mono, you have some good ideas there.

Full agree. Lavezzi is 6.2t empty and fully loaded 8.5t with 92sqm of sail area…a mass production cat that sails well for appropriate money and the interior is a lot gelcoat surfaces, easy to maintain and won‘t get water damages.
Yes storing solutions was not their main goal here…but you have a lot spaces you can add some and that’s why you making your own to make it yours for your needs
Yes galley has not much counter space, so you have to be creative to get more.

Great solution, Lavezzi really lacking organized storage space
To 1) Where did you get the slideouts for the trays, had the same idea but cannot find them anywhere
To 4) do you have link on Amazon to the canister shelf’s on the left side. Fits perfectly. Have spice racks there but space is better utilized with your solution.

Last picture, is that a stone cutting board?
A tip underneath it actually hollow. Figured that out lately. You can access the area easily from the head backboard when taking out the shelf on the right side of the mirror, just hold in place with 4 screws and maybe a bit sikaflex. I plan to laminate in a shelf and a wall plus cut open under your cutting board and the board is the folding cover. It’s the perfect space for all the bottles like oil, vinagar….

This is the Amazon link for the rack / shelves. As for the cutlery any kitchen /hardware or dollar store should have them as they are standard trays but you will need ones with a lip so that they will have something to grab on to when you build the wooden slides.
That is a silicone heat mat and yes underneath that space we have a custom liquor cabinet with holes for bottles plus I also have a shelf with a pull out spice rack above the bottles.

Could you make photos how you done your liquor cabinet please.

Here are my mods:
1) converted to full electric galley: Bartscher 3 burner induction stove (the gas stove is still underneath as backup).
2) deleted gas oven that just sucked as everything in back was coal while front raw replaced with Integreated 4 in 1 microwave/convection/BBQ and steamer Panasonic too, best mod i have ever done. Use it daily. Below a pull out drawer that contains all pants and pots, except the huge 10l one.
3) a dishwasher :-) makes the whole galley so much cleaner as all dirty stuff goes into it right away. Runs once all 2 till 3 days, needs 8l water for one wash and around 25AH on the fast program.
4) ikea cheese boards used as cover for the sinks, normally i use 1 while the other is covered and gives me space to work.
5) cutlery drawer underneath salon table
6) beverage drawer fridge underneath seating

Next planed:
Wodden Cover for induction stove that can be used to extend work space by inserting as table at the staircase between fridge and kitchen block.

Love the dishwasher, it’s the Balay that’s 8cm higher as all the other small ones so even 28cm plates or pans fitting.
The 3rd pic is a 20l isotherm drawer fridge mostly used as beverage fridge, the 0.5l tins fit standing so 40 fit perfectly.
Salon table is my cutlery drawer, see first post 4th pic it’s open.
